THE LYNX AND YOU

Hi. I’m Pamela Ostrom, founder of and principal consultant for Lynx Leadership.  Welcome and thanks for visiting our site.

At Lynx Leadership, I give each client my personalized attention. That’s my leadership commitment to you.

How can I make that promise? Because Lynx Leadership is a small firm where client satisfaction is our highest priority.  By staying small, we keep overhead low. That allows us to provide cost-effective services to small businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals.  At the same time, we have a great network of trusted consulting partners to collaborate with as needed.  Seamless partnerships give us the flexibility to handle the needs of large organizations and work on major initiatives.  And all our clients get the service they deserve!

LEADERSHIP MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

25+ years of experience as a human resources development professional, corporate manager, business consultant and coach working in a variety of industries and with companies of all sizes have shown me that leadership is an essential attribute for success in life. In business, it’s not enough to have a great product or idea.  It’s not enough to have a well-managed company.  Success in business today depends on good leadership. I’ve seen well-designed business initiatives fail in execution due to a lack of  leadership. I’ve seen capable, intelligent people fail due to poor leadership skills. It’s not enough to want to succeed in our jobs or careers, we need to know HOW to succeed. And the “how” is leadership.

Leadership links vision, values, goals, actions and results. Leadership links diverse interests and people into a cohesive, functioning and productive whole. The attributes of leadership enable us to realize our aspirations, capitalize on opportunities, overcome challenges and obstacles, creatively manage relationships, learn from failure and turn setbacks into successes.  In business and in life, leadership is the glue that holds it all together — and makes the whole greater than the sum of the parts.

Why we’re called LYNX Leadership

Standing up for what we believe in and doing what we think is right doesn’t always make us popular or appreciated.  And the vision that drives us creatively toward a better future, may not be seen clearly by those on the ground.  We need to have the fortitude to stand firm and “go it alone” when necessary. The lynx, which is by nature a solitary animal comfortable finding its own way in the world, reminds us of that important attribute.

But the lynx also bands together with others of its kind to hunt and travel because that increases the odds of surviving and thriving in challenging circumstances.  The lynx demonstrates another necessary leadership trait: versatility and adaptability in a changing world.  As a leader, you need resources and support on your journey too. When you need us, we’re there for you.
